Preventive Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: These positions are part of the Engineering department and work as part of a team to perform building maintenance and repair building facilities, including HVAC systems, electrical, and related equipment. These positions are very hands-on and require a willingness to work as part of a team. 

Description: (Italics reflect performance appraisal criteria):

· Performs repairs, service, and preventative maintenance on HVAC and electrical equipment

· Repairs and/or replaces common area lighting as needed

· Maintains accurate records of equipment condition and effectively evaluates future equipment

· Collaborates with a team that installs new units or replacement parts for existing units

· Operates all HVAC and electrical systems at optimum performance levels while ensuring occupancy comfort

· Performs all preventative maintenance to HVAC and mechanical equipment

· Has ability to work nights and weekends as needed with varied hours and days

· Other related duties as assigned

Positions Supervised:

· None

Required Education:

· High School diploma or equivalent

Required Experience:

· 1-3 years of related hands-on experience

· Electrical, HVAC, Pneumatics and Pumps

· Experience working at varying levels of height

· Valid Texas Driver’s Licens

· Must pass a mandatory background check

Physical Requirements:

· Stand, walk, or climb ladder/stairs for majority of work shift

· Work outside in weather elements up to 25% of the time

· Ability to work on a scissor lift or boom lift at heights up to 75 feet

· Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs

· Ability to wear and work in various types of Personal Protection Devices and Equipment
