The National Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining customer relations with strategic accounts. The NAM will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives within the National Account Channel. You should also be organized and able to analyze performance metrics. We also expect you to have solid negotiation skills and the ability to foster relationships with customers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * With guidance, help identify, develop, and close new sales. Identify potential accounts and develop a strategy to build and grow a business with each customer. * Analyze the market to identify trends and take advantage of opportunities. Assume responsibility for the management of existing key National retail chain store accounts. * Provide market/account-based guidance to the senior leadership team in developing short- and long-term strategic plans along with a functional plan to achieve revenue and profitability targets. * Manage sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes for each account. * Set sales goals and category objectives. * Accountable for the timely execution of all sales organization objectives. Review sales reports and other internal intelligence to ensure proper management of each account. * Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends. * Participate in regular status and strategy meetings with customers' senior management to understand and meet their needs. * Meet and exceed brand distribution objectives for new and existing products * Resolve customer service issues and build strong relationships with accounts * Attend various trade shows and functions CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum 5 years as a National Account Manager and 3 years in the consumer products or gift industry or similar * Established relationships within the consumer products or gift industry are a must to be considered. Must have a book of business * Solid experience in sales and customer service * Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client's requirements In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics * Hands-on experience with CRM software and MS Excel * Excellent analytical and organizational skills * Strong communication skills * Availability to travel as needed * Degree required in Sales, Business Administration or relevant field |
