Position Summary:

The Director of Digital Technology will provide leadership and vision in setting the strategic direction of the Dallas Market Center’s digital initiatives. By leveraging the latest technology to envision and build leading-edge designs, this position will be responsible for delivering the best possible online user experience to drive Dallas Market Center’s success and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. The Director of Digital Technology will collaborate with the VP of Marketing by recommending and working through technical solutions that will fulfill the goals, objectives, and vision set forth for the business. This will involve collecting, researching, investigating, and evaluating user and business requirements. The Director must be an expert on Dallas Market Center’s backend systems to ensure best practices, seamless integration, and business operations are taken into account. This position will oversee the interface design and development of Dallas Market Center’s website, content management system (CMS), custom applications, mobile applications, and associated digital properties. Additional responsibilities include key analytics, website optimization, usability, search engine optimization (SEO), Hubspot workflows/data integration, and cross-platform brand adherence. This is a hands-on position which requires collaboration with Marketing for continual UI/UX changes and content updates, including copy and multimedia.

 

Position Description:

  • Creates user-centric designs by understanding business requirements, information architecture, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings
  • Quickly and iteratively creates user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and low- and high-fidelity mockups
  • Is instrumental in defining Dallas Market Center’s web/digital strategies and works with key stakeholders to drive these strategies to execution
  • Works directly with Marketing team to develop strategies and implement marketing technology efforts to improve the business
  • Proactively works with key stakeholders to identify problems and provide creative solutions that positively impact the organization
  • Communicates with Marketing and IT teams, as well as business stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Ensures business processes are buyer- and exhibitor-centric by incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into design
  • Performs metrics analysis post-markets to inform design and user experience optimization efforts
  • Possesses excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Utilizes specific frontend and design technologies to modify and maintain all web properties
  • Oversees and implements multiple projects simultaneously and serves as liaison for all business units

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years managing mid- to large-scale technical projects in dynamic environments
  • Ability to conduct high-level technical and business analysis
  • Ability to create clearly articulated strategies and documentation
  • Ability to manage and coordinate with Marketing Team with CMS requests and updates
  • Ability to assist varied business units with development of user requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of core business strategies
  • Independent thought applied to continuous process improvement
  • Ability to formulate, implement, and manage new ideas and solutions
  • Minimum of 5 years in frontend web design and development
  • Advanced knowledge of frontend tools such as HTML / CSS / jQuery
  • Intermediate knowledge of XML and the use of XML style sheets
  • Intermediate knowledge of programming languages such as ASP.NET
  • Working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, MySQL
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Required Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
