Dallas Market Center is seeking a Director of Technology to become part of our team! This person owns delivery on all IT objectives and be responsible for managing technology for DMC systems and tools, including all software applications necessary for site operations. You will be responsible for the strategic alignment of IT projects to support the growth of the company while maintaining flexibility, in addition to ensuring the performance and availability of applications. The role requires extensive partnership with all the functions of the company to ensure project prioritization is optimized.
Elements for success include a strong background in mentoring and providing leadership to development staff, providing strong project management skills that result in meeting or beating timelines, meeting, or exceeding standards of quality, and executive presence to present technical solutions to internal executives and prospects.

Position Description:

  • Assists the EVP of Technology in leading the strategic and operational planning for technology initiatives to achieve business goals
  • Partners with business leaders and users to creatively identify / evaluate / implement / improve business technology and processes, arriving at mutual, cost-effective solutions for business success
  • Develops, markets, and implements comprehensive IT project plans, beginning with project team structure and resource assignment, and ending with a control plan identifying both business process metrics and IT platform quality requirements
  • Leads and manages multiple high-complexity projects for Data Services, including projects regarding databases, middleware, etc. for various customers/sectors by working across multiple technology teams, business units, and stakeholders to ensure technology projects are delivered successfully to meet strategic goals
  • Identifies and monitors training needs in the organization, and designs, plans, and implements training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs
  • Makes recommendations on purchasing, staffing, and outsourcing for maximum efficiency and productivity
  • Maintains proper oversight of IT costs and budget
  • Assists the EVP of Technology with implementing standard operating procedures, guidelines, and policies for improved customer service and adherence to best practices
  • Evaluates staff performance, prepares annual reviews, manages performance issues, and participates in hiring and disciplinary procedures

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred

Required Experience:

  • 5 years of management experience leading teams in a dynamic technology environment
  • 5 years of experience communicating IT plans and initiatives to C-level leadership
  • 5 years of demonstrated project management skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit in an office environment for most of each day
