Dallas Gourmet Gold Specialty Food Award Winners Announced

DALLAS – June 25, 2018 – Dallas Market Center announced the winners of the 9th Annual Dallas Gourmet Gold Specialty Food Awards during an awards ceremony and cocktail reception held in the World Trade Center during the Dallas Total Housewares & Gourmet Market. This year also marks the 30th Anniversary of Dallas Market Center’s Gourmet Market, in addition to milestone anniversaries of many of its exhibitors.

The Gourmet Gold Specialty Food Awards, sponsored by Gourmet Insider magazine, celebrates exceptional manufacturers in the gourmet products industry who exhibit in Dallas. The winners are as follows:

  • Best Chocolate Candy/Dessert: Dark Chocolate Bourbon Cherry Cordial by Isabelly's Chocolates
  • Best Non-Chocolate Candy/Dessert: Aunt Bee'z Pecans N' Bourbon Sauce by Aunt Bee'z and Uncle Steve'z
  • Best Snack – dips, salsas, nuts: La Casita Hot Sauce Medium Original Recipe by La Casita Hot Sauce
  • Best Healthy Lifestyle: Spiked Blackberry Jam by The Homesteader's Finest

Judging was based on originality, taste, and packaging. This year’s judges included: Rob Wilson, co-owner and founding partner of Times Ten cellars in Dallas; Chef Jose Sanchez, owner of Blue Agave Catering Company; Chef Jennifer Bonner, co-owner and driving force behind EdiblEnvy Catering, Full Circle Tavern & FCTaverna.

Among the hundreds of exhibitors in Gourmet Market, fifteen have been in in place for at least fifteen years and five companies have been in Gourmet Market for 30 years: Carmie’s Kitchen, Coffee City USA, Lamme’s Candies, Redstone Foods, and Sweet Shop USA.
