Dallas Design Week Draws Full Rooms Across Three Days of Programming

— First-time registrations surged as interior designers arrived from all over the country. —

Dallas Design Week wrapped its September 15-17 run at Dallas Market Center, the largest open-daily design marketplace in the country, with a program of business education, color forecasting, and designer conversations that filled rooms from the first session to the final toast.

Attendance from both registered companies and individual designers climbed well above last September, with first-time registrations growing fastest of all. Wednesday was the busiest single day on campus, and the crowd stretched beyond Design Week's own registrants — many attendees of the concurrent ASID GATHER: Catalyst conference arrived ahead of its opening to sit in on both Dallas Design Week programming and ArchLIGHT Summit sessions.

“From our stellar Business of Home panels offering candid, actionable advice to design icon Charlotte Moss reminding us to stay curious, train our eyes, and continually seek inspiration — plus our Design Ambassadors Vignette Reveal Party celebrating the extraordinary talent we have right here in Dallas — the entire week highlighted a design community that’s learning from one another and genuinely celebrating each other’s success.” said Ileana Saldivia, director of interior design at Dallas Market Center. "Everyone who attended Dallas Design Week left with new sources, new ideas, and new contacts from around the nation."

THE BUSINESS ACCELERATOR SERIES
The second BOH x DMC Business Accelerator Series packed its sixth-floor showroom setting for a Tuesday program built around what happens after a designer wins the project.

Business of Home editor-in-chief Kaitlin Petersen moderated, and was joined by Sean Low, president of The Business of Being Creative, on establishing authority and client trust; attorney Wendy Estela on the contract clauses and boundaries that keep projects running smoothly; and Morgan Farrow, founder and principal designer of Morgan Farrow Interiors, and Hattie Sparks Collins, creative director and principal designer of Hattie Sparks Interiors, who walked attendees through their own client presentations, from decks to samples to meeting structure.

The series closed with direct access to the speakers, as attendees moved among four participating showrooms — Palecek, Ethan & Associates, MC Studio, and The Gallery — for coffee, dessert, and conversation while Petersen rotated through each.

STANDING ROOM ONLY AT DINE + DESIGN
Dine + Design drew a standing-room-only crowd to its new home in the Samsung showroom (TM 4604). Presented by Dallas Market Center, Sherwin-Williams, Samsung, and Modern Luxury Interiors, the CEU-accredited luncheon gave designers the first look at the Sherwin-Williams Rewild Colormix® Trend Forecast 2027, led by the Sherwin-Williams Trendsight Team®.

AN AFTERNOON WITH CHARLOTTE MOSS
One of the week's most popular sessions brought Charlotte Moss to the Interior Home + Design Center. Presented by Coco & Dash, "Charlotte's Eye: How Instinct Shapes a Life in Rooms" had Moss sharing how travel, collecting, entertaining, and craftsmanship have shaped four decades of work and 11 books. A signing for her newest title, Charlotte Moss: At Home in Virginia, followed in the Coco & Dash showroom.

DESIGN AMBASSADORS REVEAL NEW VIGNETTES
Wednesday closed with the DMC Design Ambassadors Vignette Reveal Party, unveiling new installations from Javier Burkle of Burkle Creative and Mike and Bryan Yates of Yates — the second reveal in the Design Ambassador Program's inaugural year.

The celebration paired the two new vignettes with wine and cocktails, passed hors d'oeuvres, and live music, plus a cigar roller and a make-your-own pressed flower décor station for guests.

A FULL CAMPUS
Dallas Design Week ran alongside ArchLIGHT Summit (September 15-16), the two-day commercial and architectural lighting event; the DALI Alliance's North America Summit (September 16-17); and, for the first time, the American Society of Interior Designers' national GATHER: Catalyst conference (September 16-18). Gift & Home Market and Dallas KidsWorld (September 15-17) were also underway.
