While there are certainly different approaches to lighting design, there are common sense rules of thumb regarding distance off of walls, distances apart from fixture to fixture, and using an objective approach to design rather than a subjective approach to design.  Knowing these rules of thumb can help you to design spaces quickly, more efficiently, and with confidence that what you put on paper will actually “work”.  Proper placement of fixtures is something that cannot be changed easily, so it’s important to get it right the first time.  Lighting designer Peter Romaniello, IALD, will discuss these approaches in detail, and will give you information you can use immediately on all of your projects. This American Lighting Association seminar earns attendees 1 hour of CLC® credit and costs $44. Pre- registration is recommended at https://alamembers.com/Professional-Education/Course/CourseId/1165
