Residential lighting controls can present challenges for even the most basic of installations thanks in part to emerging technology and recent changes in codes. Controls are an integral part of lighting and understanding the basic concepts of lighting controls can help you navigate the design process. This two-part talk discusses what you need to know about lighting controls and shows you how to approach designing practical, code-compliant, and feasible residential lighting controls that enhance the beauty, value, and energy efficiency of residential spaces, and is intended for designers, specifiers, sales and showroom personnel, building contractors, homeowners, and anyone else interested in learning about lighting controls.

Part 2 expands upon Part 1 as a more in-depth review of lighting control  documentation, and terminology. This part also reviews how to select and design a lighting control system.
